Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has passed on his good wishes to Nottingham Forest legend Stuart Pearce as he recovers from a “health scare”.
The former Reds defender was said to be travelling on a Virgin Atlantic flight from Las Vegas to London last Sunday when he fell ill. Pearce, 62, is said to have received treatment on board from staff and medically trained passengers.
The former England international is recovering in hospital in St John's, Canada, where the plane was diverted to after he suffered a 'health scare'. He has since been described as being in great spirits as he continues his recover.
After Forest’s 1-0 win over Manchester City at the City Ground, Nuno said: “Stuart is not just a legend of our club, he is part of our family. We all send him our very best wishes and hope he has a full and fast recovery.”
Reds fans applauded during the third minute of the Premier League clash to show their support for Pearce. He famously wore the No 3 shirt during his career.
A message was displayed on the big screens inside the stadium which read: "Get well soon Stuart." Forest also posted "Psycho" on X, referencing his nickname, alongside a love heart.
An update has been provided on Pearce by talkSPORT, who he regularly works for as a commentator. "I spoke to him yesterday (Friday) and he was in great spirits," said presenter Sam Matterface. "He isn't 100% - that is definitely the case. But he's in the right place in the hospital. They're dealing with it.

"He's a little bit disappointed about not being here today. He actually said to me: 'I've got so much I've had to cancel - great games, and Mumford and Sons are playing next Wednesday night and I can't go.'"

Forest triumphed over City courtesy of Callum Hudson-Odoi's goal. The win took them four points clear of their opponents in the race for the Champions League spots.
