Forest Head Coach Nuno Espírito Santo expressed his pride in his Nottingham Forest players following the Reds’ 1-0 win against Manchester City in the Premier League this afternoon.

Callum Hudson-Odoi solitary strike seven minutes from time at The City Ground secured the win for Forest on a balmy lunchtime in NG2.

The win maintains Forest’s unbeaten home run and opens up a four-point gap over today’s visitors in the Premier League table.

Nuno was full of praise for his players post-match with attentions quickly turning to the trip to Ipswich Town next weekend.

“It was hard work, you can see how good (Manchester) City are, but I think the boys did well and didn’t allow them too many good situations.” Nuno told Forest TV.

“City were always going to have chances, but defensively we were really good.

“In football you have to work hard and balance the spaces, whilst realising you always have the chance to recover the ball and attack.

“City left spaces as the game went on and we were able to take advantage with our talented players. It was all about creating chances for them.

“I’m very proud of them because of the way they commit themselves, it’s all about how we can do things together and help each other.

“This is the beginning of the team spirit we want but there’s still a long way to go so let’s focus on the next one.

“It’s now about Ipswich and it’s going to be another hard game and we have to be ready.”

He added: “We have to recover analyse today’s game and prepare the boys again.”
