Most around the NBA view Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum as a legitimate superstar. However, there are still some who are not buying into the hype.
Despite the fact that Tatum is consistently one of the top scorers in the NBA and is fresh off of leading the Celtics to an NBA Finals win last year, he still receives his fair share of criticism.
Colin Cowherd has been one of the more open voices when it comes to Tatum criticism.
Once again, during a recent segment on his show, "Herd with Colin Cowherd," Cowherd made it clear that he does not think Tatum is a superstar or that he will be remembered after he retires.
"You're the one trying to get me to compare him to superstars," Cowherd said. "There's not a lot of aura there... Jayson Tatum is going to retire, 4 years later there will be no more Jayson Tatum talk."

Cowherd is certainly entitled to his own opinion on the matter. Most disagree with his take about Tatum.
Throughout the course of the 2024-25 NBA season so far, Tatum has once again put up monstrous numbers. In 59 games played, Tatum has averaged 26.9 points per game to go along with 8.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.1 steals.
Along with his averages, Tatum has been shooting 45.5 percent from the floor and has knocked down 35.4 percent of his three-point attempts.
At 27 years old, Tatum still has plenty of time to continue adding onto his career and proving his doubters wrong.
