Another close game ends in a loss - AJ's player ratings from defeat at Palace

**Alex Palmer**

Some big saves. Commanded his area well and denied Palace quite a few great opportunities. Nothing he could have done about the goal - he did everything to try and drag Ipswich to a result. **8 (Man of the Match)**

**Dara O'Shea**

Out of position but dealt with Eberechi Eze really well, aside from one or two moments of real quality where the England international threatened. Can be pleased with his efforts. **7**

**Luke Woolfenden**

Positioned himself well. Nullified Eddie Nketiah well, aside from a couple of occasions. **7**

**Jacob Greaves**

Not at his best. Booked early on for a shirt pull and perhaps fortunate to avoid a second. Drawn out too many times when Palace attacked. Made a vital block to to deny Eze in the first half. **5**

**Leif Davis**

Better. Some nice attacking work and held his own defensively. Almost gifted Palace a goal towards the end. **6**

**Kalvin Phillips**

Some sloppy passes where miscommunication caught him out. Really unfortunate for the goal. Looked good with Jens Cajuste. **6**

**Jens Cajuste**

Another nice, nonchalant performance. Some really good moments on the ball, ensuring that Town never really got overrun by Palace's midfield two, which happened in the reverse fixture. **7**

**Jaden Philogene**

Had an early shot where he didn't make proper contact, but was relatively quiet from then on. Off-the-ball work is clearly improving but felt like he hardly had any time in possession. **5**

**Julio Enciso**

Lively but perhaps lacking a little bit of sharpness at times, which is understandable given that he's only just returned from injury. Best moment came in the first half, when he sat down Marc Guehi before stinging the palms of Dean Henderson. **6**

**Jack Clarke**

Another big step forwards in his work out of possession, constantly chasing players to win the ball. Created a brilliant opportunity by robbing Eze but couldn't quite set up Enciso to score. **6**

**Liam Delap**

The odd opportunity where he really threatened, but too many poor shots from good areas. Not his combative self. **5**

**Sub: Ben Johnson (67')**

Offered Town more width in a different shape. Missed a glorious opportunity with a header from close range. **5**

**Sub: Omari Hutchinson (67')**

Brought energy off the bench, with some dangerous deliveries into the box that caused problems. Clearly wasn't fit enough to start but felt like a big miss. **6**

**Sub: Nathan Broadhead (75')**

Got into good areas but struggled to pull the trigger. **6**

**Sub: Jack Tayor (84')**

**Sub: George Hirst (84')**
