Swansea City rocked by huge injury blow as loanee facing early exit

Myles Peart-Harris may have played his last game for Swansea

Brentford loanee Myles Peart-Harris may have played his last game for Swansea City, interim boss Alan Sheehan has admitted.

The 22-year-old missed Saturday's 1-0 win over Middlesbrough with a back injury he suffered during the goalless draw with Preston North End last week.

His replacement, Eom Jisung, netted the only goal of the game, curling a stunning strike home just before half-time to preserve Swansea's unbeaten streak under the Irishman, who was handed the reins following the dismissal of Luke Williams last month. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.

Swansea have now taken seven points from a possible nine under Sheehan's stewardship, and have also secured three straight clean sheets for the first time in nearly a year.

However, the loss of Peart-Harris, who was in attendance to cheer on his team-mates against the Teessiders, will be a big blow, with Sheehan confirming the attacking midfielder is set to return to his parent club for further assessments.

"I don't think it's good," he said.

"He is going to back to Brentford and will get assessed again, but the scans weren't as generous to us as we'd have hoped.

"It's such a pity because he's such a lovely kid and he gives us something very different than other people in the team.

"I am very disappointed for him. He is a young lad, he has come here and had a good loan so for it to end like that is disappointing."

Peart-Harris has scored three goals in 30 Swansea appearances.
