The Kansas City Chiefs have been busy over the past month. After their Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the team waited for a decision from star tight end Travis Kelce, who was contemplating retirement.
Once Kelce announced he would return, the focus shifted entirely to the new league year, which begins on March 12 and also marks the start of NFL free agency. However, on Saturday, the Chiefs drew significant attention, particularly at the wide receiver position.
It was revealed on Saturday morning that star WR Xavier Worthy, who just wrapped up a stellar rookie season, was arrested on Friday night in Texas on a felony domestic violence charge.
Just hours later, the Chiefs made a move at the position, agreeing to a one-year deal, worth up to $11 million with Marquise "Hollywood" Brown. Brown, who missed most of last season due to an injury sustained before the season began, rejoined Kansas City for their postseason run in a limited role.

The news instantly sparked reactions from NFL and Chiefs fans that had some mixed opinions on the signing following the unfortunate news regarding Worthy.
"Chiefs saw what happened with worthy and never ran so quick to sign a WR LMFAOOOO." A fan posted.
"Chiefs saw X in the headlines and needed a distraction." Someone else said.
"Had to re-sign their only WR that won't be suspended in 2025." A fan added.
One more fan commented, "Well yeah… after this Xavier news gotta act fast."
The Chiefs, still a serious contender in the AFC with Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and head coach Andy Reid, are entering a particularly interesting offseason with many question marks surrounding the rest of their roster.
This uncertainty is heightened by Worthy and the ongoing situation involving Rashee Rice. Rice, who suffered a season-ending injury, could face a suspension in 2025 due to a legal issue from before the 2024 season. He was charged with a hit-and-run in an accident that involved six cars.
