New York Giants Re-Sign Tommy DeVito

**GIANTS RE-SIGN TOMMY DeVITO…**

The New York Giants re-signed quarterback **Tommy DeVito** on Saturday. Free agency officially starts on March 12, with the legal tampering period beginning on March 10. DeVito was scheduled to become an exclusive rights free agent.

The Giants signed DeVito as an undrafted rookie free agent after the 2023 NFL Draft. Considered more of a camp arm when they signed him, DeVito was added to the Practice Squad in late August, was a standard elevation from the Practice Squad for three games, and then added to the 53-man roster in late October. Due to injuries to Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor, DeVito shockingly ended up starting six games in a row as a rookie. DeVito struggled in his first start, but then won three consecutive games with a quarterback rating over 100. Then came two subpar losses and DeVito was benched in favor of Taylor. DeVito finished his rookie year playing in nine games with six starts (3-3 overall record). He completed 64 percent of his passes for 1,101 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also rushed for 195 yards and one touchdown.

In his second season in 2024, DeVito made the 53-man roster as the team’s third-string quarterback. When Jones was benched, DeVito was given the start over Drew Lock in Week 12. DeVito did not play well and injured his right forearm. Lock started the next two games until he too was injured. DeVito then played almost half a game in Week 15, having accuracy issues, until he suffered a concussion. DeVito finished the season playing in three games with two starts (0-2). He completed a somewhat misleading 70 percent of his passes, with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
