West Ham United have been heavily linked with a move to sign Angel Gomes recently.
It has been claimed that Angel Gomes is a prime target for West Ham ahead of the summer transfer window.
The main reason for that is because funds are tight at West Ham right now, and the 24-year-old Lille ace will be available on a free transfer in the summer.
Graham Potter clearly needs to strengthen his central midfield ranks London Stadium, and Lille ace Angel Gomes would take the Hammers to another level.
The midfielder has been exceptional for Lille over the past 18 months.

His exceptional technique and ability to dictate the tempo of the game from the middle of the park would elevate the cohesion of the Hammers’ play.
But do West Ham really have a chance of signing him this summer?
West Ham’s concerning approach to Angel Gomes deal
David Sullivan has acquired a reputation in the game of being incredibly difficult to deal with.

Some might say that he is actually impossible to work with at times, just ask Simon Jordan!
In fairness to Sullivan, he has negotiated some terrific deals for the Hammers. Selling Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105 million was exceptional business for West Ham.
However, he has overseen some real disasters as well.
Who could forget the William Carvalho saga? And what about the Said Benrahma and Kurt Zouma deals, when the Hammers co-owner kept changing the goalposts in the final throngs of negotiations?

This time though, it seems like the West Ham supremo has started the Angel Gomes negotiations off in very bad taste.
West Ham make embarrassing Angel Gomes move
According to Claret and Hugh, the Hammers have made an official offer to the 24-year-old midfielder.
However, the West Ham insiders claim that the offer made to Gomes’s representatives was offer was ‘nowhere near acceptable’.
That’s just embarrassing behaviour really isn’t it.
If you’re trying to convince a player to join your club, the last thing you want to do it go in with an insulting low-ball first offer.
Four other clubs have already made proposals for Angel Gomes, so West Ham cannot afford to approach this deal with any other than total conviction.
If Graham Potter really wants the former Manchester United midfielder, the board need to do everything within their power to make it happen.
