With the most cap space in the NFL and a new coaching staff looking to make a splash, the New England Patriots are going big game hunting this offseason.
Everyone is rightfully focused on wide receivers like DK Metcalf and Chris Godwin, but head coach Mike Vrabel won't ignore the trenches on the offensive and defensive lines.
The Patriots are widely expected to pursue top free-agent offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley, but one media prediction has them landing former Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams.
According to Mike Jones of The Athletic, "the Patriots have plenty of needs as they try to surround second-year quarterback Drake Maye with a quality supporting cast. But look for defensive-minded Mike Vrabel to stress fortifying that side of the ball as well by adding impact players to dominate in the trenches."
Fresh off a dominating playoff performance against the Washington and Kansas City offensive lines, Williams is widely regarded as the No. 1 or No. 2 player available in free agency.
Adding Williams to the middle of the Patriots' defense would be a massive coup for Vrabel and defensive coordinator Terrell Williams. Let's see if Eliot Wolf and Co. can seal the deal.
