ManchesterWorld looks at how Ruben Amorim could line up next season if recent transfer rumours prove to be true.

Manchester United are expected to oversee a busy summer transfer window as they trudge their way towards the end of the season.

A lot of hope is resting on their Europa League performances. After being knocked out of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, and currently sitting 14th in the Premier League, it’s been a frustrating campaign for the Red Devils.

Even following the appointment of new manager Ruben Amorim, results have been hit and miss for United. The former Sporting CP coach is looking to revamp his inherited squad with some significant changes this summer, and plenty of transfer rumours have been doing the rounds recently.

We’ve taken a look at how United’s starting lineup could look next season if recent transfer links prove to be true. Amorim is also waiting on some important players to return from injury, which will also provide a huge boost once he has a fully fit team.

New defenders on the radar, including former Amorim star

United’s defence has been a big topic of conversation for a while now and Amorim is expected to tap into his former club to sign some of their some top talent.

Geovany Quenda is one man on the shortlist and according to Ben Jacobs, talks are progressing over a reunion between the two, as the young wing-back is said to be ‘keen’ on a switch to Old Trafford. The report told GiveMeSport that talks are ongoing over whether an agreement can be made ahead of the summer.

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite also remains a big target for the Red Devils and has been on their list for some time now. Sky Sports recently reported that the centre-back is willing to listen to contract offers from his current club following their rise in form under David Moyes, but it could boil down to the difference in salary other clubs can offer him.

Prolific goalscorer keen on Man United move

Despite their unfavourable Premier League position, United continue to attract top talent. The Red Devils are in dire need of some fresh attacking options, with one of the lowest goal returns in the league this season. Victor Osimhen is a man who has been on multiple English club’s radar for years now, and according to Fabrizio Romano for GiveMeSport, the clinical Nigeria international is ‘keen on a move’ to Old Trafford.

With a little more than a year left on his contract, Napoli are expected to significantly slash their recent asking price of €150 million (£123m) for Osimhen. Calciomercato reports that United could offer the Italian side a €40 million (£33m) fee, plus Rasmus Hojlund, who has bee branded as a ‘disappointment’ since his arrival in Manchester.

Osimhen is currently on loan with Galatasaray and has tallied a superb 22 goals and five assists in 28 appearances. The Italian report claims United are preparing for a transfer ‘revolution’ and Osimhen could well be the goal-poacher to start that off.

Man United dream XI if rumours are true: Onana; Quenda, Yoro, Branthwaite, De Ligt, Dorgu, Ugarte, Mainoo, Amad, Fernandes, Osimhen.
