Yves Bissouma’s friend and international teammate, Bassirou Dembele, has spoken about the midfielder’s current predicament at Tottenham and has made a huge transfer claim about the former Brighton man.
Bissouma is no longer an automatic choice in Ange Postecoglu’s starting eleven, with the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Sarr, and Lucas Bergvall ahead of him in the pecking order.
With the 28-year-old set to enter the final year of his contract this June, there have predictably been plenty of rumours about his future recently.
Just a few days ago, it was reported that Posetcoglou has become impatient with Yves Bissouma’s lack of consistency, with Tottenham thus considering cashing in on the player in the summer.

Yves Bissouma backed to make a comeback at the highest level
Bassirou Dembele sees his international teammate’s current predicament at Spurs as a temporary setback, insisting that Bissouma is good enough to play for the top ten sides in world football.
The Slavia Prague midfielder urged the Tottenham man to remain in the Premier League, revealing that some big clubs have been interested in him in the past.
Dembele told Africa Foot about his ‘close friend’ Bissouma: “Yves Bissouma must stay in the Premier League. He’s a world-class player, capable of playing in the top 10 biggest clubs in the world.

“We have to wait until the end of the season. Let’s not forget that he has a market value of €35m and is under contract until 2026. He is only 28 and has a bright future ahead of him.”
“Of course, he is lacking playing time at the moment, but he has already been through a similar situation at Lille, before bouncing back brilliantly. At the time, he was already courted by Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa, before signing for Brighton for around €29m in 2018.”
Biggest clubs in Europa backed to show interest in Bissouma again
We have heard over recent days that the likes of Crystal Palace, Marseille and Nice are all exploring a move for Bissouma ahead of the summer.
However, Dembele insists that much bigger clubs from across the continent could come calling for the 28-year-old, urging him to “aim higher”.
When asked about the interests of Palace, Nice and Marseille in Bissouma, the Slavia Prague man said “These are just rumours, but it isn’t surprising that Yves is in such high demand. When you are one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, the big teams are always on the lookout, especially at the end of your contract.
“Let’s wait until the end of the season to see how things evolve. Yves has a steely mind, he is a competitor, ready to take on challenges. There are things that cannot be revealed at the moment.
“Big clubs have always been interested in him [Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Bayern, Liverpool, Chelsea, Juventus], but we must let time do its work. When the time comes, all the information will be revealed. What is certain is that Yves Bissouma is aiming higher.”
