Manchester United have the opportunity to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres for £55 million this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils have struggled in the final third this campaign and they have netted just 33 goals after 27 games into the Premier League season.
Manager Ruben Amorim may want an upgrade on Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee and Romano claims that Gyokeres is admired by United.
However, a transfer won't be straightforward. It could depend on the transfer budget as well as qualification for the Champions League.
Gyokeres has a release clause of around £84 million in his contract, but he has a gentleman's agreement to leave Sporting for £55 million this summer.
Amorim is open to a reunion with the former Coventry City striker, who has already netted 37 goals from 39 games for Sporting this term.
A deal could depend on winning the Europa League which guarantees Champions League football. Gyokeres aims to play in the competition.
