Rangers have made their decision on appointing Steven Gerrard as the 49ers Enterprises have already assessed options ahead of their takeover.
The Liverpool icon spent over three years at the Gers before moving to Aston Villa in 2021, where he was unable to make a mark.
After his struggles at Al-Ettifaq, Gerrad is now linked with returning to Ibrox as the Light Blues look for a new permanent manager after Philippe Clement’s sacking.
Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe have a big decision to make as they look to take control of the Glaswegian outfit, with Barry Ferguson taking interim charge until the end of the season.

Gerrard’s record as Rangers manager.
It has been claimed that Cavenagh and the 49ers are prioritising a new manager and are eager to bring the former England international back to the Bears.
Rangers won the league title under Gerrard after 10 years, but their prospects have declined since the Liverpool icon’s exit.

Cavenagh and Marathe need to be ambitious at Ibrox
Patrick Stewart temporarily appointed Ferguson at the Gers, which was much needed after the atmosphere crumbled under Clement.
After the Light Blues beat Fenerbahce 3-1 in the Europa League on Thursday (6 March), it isn’t surprising to see talks of the interim boss being handed the reins on a permanent basis.
While the former Scotland international’s changes to the team were instrumental against Jose Mourinho’s team, the Bears need a more experienced manager next summer.
Cavenagh and Marathe shouldn’t give in to the sentiment of giving Ferguson an opportunity.
The Bears have been inconsistent all season, and significant changes must be made at the end of the campaign.
Gerrard has already tasted success at the Glaswegian outfit and would be an ambitious appointment by the American consortium once they take over.
While the 44-year-old left the Glaswegian outfit in the middle of a season for Villa, he could be tempted to rebuild his reputation at Ibrox after his struggles in Saudi Arabia.
Gerrard’s appointment is one most fans will get behind.
