PSG's Vitinha has sent a stern warning to Liverpool ahead of the crucial Champions League second leg at Anfield on Tuesday, confidently stating: "We will win in Liverpool."
Liverpool managed a narrow 1-0 victory in the first leg at Parc des Princes, thanks to Harvey Elliott's late winner and an impressive nine-save performance by goalkeeper Alisson. Despite this, Vitinha remains optimistic, declaring: "We will have to show our strength."
He added: "We will play a great game there, we will go through, I am sure."
Vitinha is undeterred by the first-leg loss, where PSG had a staggering 27 shots at goal, with 10 of those on target. In contrast, Liverpool only managed two shots throughout the evening but pulled off an impressive smash-and-grab victory.
Vitinha acknowledged the difficulty in accepting the result, saying: "It's tough, everyone saw it. Football is like that. It's tough. They score with their only shot. It's tough. It's been a long time since we lost."
Despite the setback, Vitinha is adamant that PSG will rise to the challenge on Merseyside, saying: "I remain optimistic. We had plenty of chances, we will play a great game and win in Liverpool."
This sets the stage for an intense showdown at Anfield, with Liverpool looking to protect their slim lead and PSG determined to turn the tables.
