Everton are level with Wolves at halftime, though they have largely struggled to carve out any real opportunities away from their goal.
Everton may have been the underdogs heading into this game, but so far, they looked far and away the most threatening side, with Jack Harrison’s goal cancelled out before the break.
As has been the case for the majority of games this season, the Toffees have been happy for the hosts to dominate possession, knowing that they can cause a threat on the counter attack.
However, Moyes‘ side are still lacking that little bit of quality in the final third, which could be remedied with a simple change at half time.

Carlos Alcaraz must be introduced for Everton
The decision to drop Carlos Alcaraz to the bench was a strange one initially, and it’s one that Moyes will surely be regretting at the interval.

On the flip side, James Garner has had very little influence on the game from an attacking point of view, and it may make the most sense for the duo to swap places in a bid to strengthen their chances of returning to Merseyside with all three points.
Abdoulaye Doucoure, having actually been brought back into the team for Alcaraz, would be able to drop into that deeper role, allowing the Argentinian to occupy the 10 role, which he has done to great effect at times for Everton.
Wolves v Everton Goals Shots xG Possession
Wolves 1 7 0.50 64%
Everton 1 6 0.90 36%
Everton are level at the break
Wolves certainly look vulnerable at the back, but the Toffees don’t have anyone on the pitch capable of exploiting that regularly.
Not only would Alcaraz provide an injection of energy, but his creativity would bring out the best of the likes of Jesper Lindstrom and Jack Harrison with his ability to thread passes through the eye of a needle.
To withdraw a more defensive midfielder for an attacking one may be a risk, but given the way the game has flowed so far, it seems like it would be one worth taking.

Everton need to make a change
While any fears of relegation are minimal for Everton, winning games remains just as important and the introduction of Alcaraz would certainly them on their way to acheciing that.
Both sides have cancelled each other out, and Alcaraz is one of the only players available who can have an impact on that, with Wolves unlikely to welcome his creativity.
This game is certainly there for the taking for the Toffees, and that simple change could seal all three points.
