Idrissa Gueye was the standout performer for Everton as they were held to a 1-1 draw away to Wolves.
Everton entered the clash as the underdogs, though an excellent start to the game saw those concerns subdued initially.
Jack Harrison gave the Toffees the lead, not too long before Wolves hit back through Marshall Munetsi, just five minutes before the interval.
Despite the exciting opening 45 minutes, the remainder of the game fizzled out, with both sides having to settle for a share of the points.

Everton to rue missed opportunity at three points
Jordan Pickford – 6
Not an awful lot he could have done with Wolves’ goal. Distribution was excellent throughout the clash and looked solid enough on the occasions he was called upon.
Jake O’Brien – 6
It was a solid defensive display from O’Brien, but was again wasteful in possession. He fell victim to giving the ball away cheaply on several occasions.
James Tarkowski – 7
Dealt well with everything that came his way defensively while providing a calming influence in possession. Was dominant in the air and stopped Wolves from getting a tune out of him.
Jarrad Branthwaite – 5
Branthwaite was fairly solid throughout the game, but it was his error that led to the equalising goal. Won the overwhelming majority of his duels, but it’s hard to look past the mistake.
Vitalii Mykolenko – 6
Had very little impact offensively, which is a surprise, but defended very well when he needed to. Struggled to get involved awfully much.
Idrissa Gueye – 8
Gueye was very tidy on the ball, and provided his usual energy in the middle of the pitch. Did his job as well as anyone could have asked of him.
Wolves v Everton Passes Pass accuracy Tackles won

Gueye was his usual self for Everton
James Garner – 5 (for Young 90+1′)
Garner had little influence in the game at either end of the pitch. Failed to win many of his defensive duels while being unable to contribute anything going forward.
Doucoure flopped v Wolves (Credit: Imago)
Moyes makes the wrong call with Abdoulaye Doucoure
Abdoulaye Doucoure – 4 (for Alcaraz 63′)
Moyes opted to bring Doucoure back in for Alcaraz in a decision that didn’t pay off. The game passed Doucoure by, with the midfielder failing to influence the game.
Jack Harrison – 7
Scored his first goal in Everton colours, which will have been a huge weight off his shoulders and generally caused problems for the Wolves backline with his direct play.
Jesper Lindstrom – 7 (for Iroegbunam 63′)
Everton struggled to get Lindstrom into the game much, but when involved, he caused problems. Registered the assist for Harrison’s goal.
Beto – 3
Beto has been excellent for Everton recently, but he failed to impress against Wolves. He was incapable of holding the ball up and never caused much of a threat, having missed an excellent chance in the opening stages of the game as well as one in the final 20 minutes.
Substitutions
Carlos Alcaraz – 6
Immediately showcased his ability to get Everton on the front foot but had little time to influence proceedings. Set up an excellent chance for Beto, which was squandered.
Tim Iroegbunam – N/A
Had little impact after his introduction aside from a reckless foul.
Ashley Young – N/A
