Everton extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to eight matches under David Moyes tonight. They played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

Despite the two sides only being separated by one place in the table going into the contest, the result maintained the 10-point gap between the pair. It also saw the Blues go above Manchester United and West Ham United on goal difference in 14th.

Jack Harrison fired Everton ahead on 33 minutes with his first goal of the season as his shot was deflected in off Matt Doherty but Marshall Munetsi restored parity for 17th-placed Wolves seven minutes later after Jarrad Branthwaite was unable to clear a ball into the box.

Needed to show greater anticipation when beaten to the ball by Munetsi for the equaliser, but otherwise stuck to his task and was alert to a loose ball to tee up Abdoulaye Doucoure’s chance.

Was unfortunate that an otherwise strong defensive display was marred by him getting his footing in a mess for Wolves’ equaliser, allowing Munetsi to slip in, as he generally read the game well and offered an outlet ball from defence when stepping forwards.

Idrissa Gueye 6

Didn’t track opposite number Jean-Ricner Bellegarde’s run in the build-up to the equaliser but continued to work hard, pushing opponents in the engine room.

Industrious in the middle of the park, combining silk with steel as he looks to pick a pass, even if his set-piece deliveries weren’t up to his usual high standards.

Jesper Lindstrom 6

Blues boss Moyes called for goals and assists from his two incumbent wide men before this game and it was the Dane’s cross that picked out his fellow winger for the opener, although he faded after the break and was taken off.

Abdoulaye Doucoure 6

Almost put Everton ahead when he spun in the Wolves area and fired in a left-foot shot that was deflected wide, he led the press well having won an instant recall, before making way for some fresh legs.

One of the brightest displays from what has been a tough second season on loan at Everton, he answered his manager’s pre-match call for an end product with his first goal of the campaign, albeit with a big deflection off Matt Doherty having earlier worked an opening for Beto when exchanging passes with Garner from a short corner.

His miss wasn’t quite at the level of his hat-trick of spurned opportunities at Brentford but the striker should have made Jose Sa work harder to keep out his effort when teed up by Alcaraz having also stabbed a close range effort too close to the goalie early on.
