Giants re-sign P Jamie Gillan, TE Chris Manhertz

The Giants continued to make moves ahead of the start of the new league year and re-signed punter Jamie Gillan and tight end Chris Manhertz, who were set to become unrestricted free agents.

The free agency signing period begins at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 12.

Earlier, the team also brought back long snapper Casey Kreiter, outside linebacker Tomon Fox, and quarterback Tommy DeVito. The latter two were set to become exclusive rights free agents.

Gillan is entering his seventh NFL season, fourth with the Giants. He played three seasons with the Browns before joining the Giants in 2022.

Gillan's 41.2-yard career net punting average is the highest in Giants history (since 1976, when it became an official statistic).

Manhertz, meanwhile, will begin his 10th NFL season. Last year, he played in all 17 games and made 11 starts in his first campaign with the Giants. He played 342 snaps on offense and 165 on special teams.
