Magic Johnson Sent Bold Message Ahead of Lakers, Celtics Game

The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics are two of the most hated rivals in all of sports. Tonight, they face off in the latest installment of that rivalry.

Both teams look the part of potential NBA Finals contenders. They have both been playing at a very high level recently as well.

There is no shortage of star power in this matchup. LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown are sure to put on a show.

With that being said, Lakers legend Magic Johnson is fired up for the game. He has a busy week of rivalry games with the Michigan State Spartans also facing off against the Michigan Wolverines on Sunday.

Johnson took to X and shared a bold message ahead of tonight's showdown between Los Angeles and the Celtics.

"This is rivalry weekend for me, starting tonight with the Lakers vs the most hated Celtics and continuing tomorrow with my Spartans vs the Wolverines!"

Coming into tonight's game, the Lakers have won eight straight games. They have looked better since the blockbuster trade to acquire Doncic. If they keep playing at this level, Los Angeles might have a chance at a championship.

Boston, on the other hand, has won three straight and hold a 45-18 overall record on the year. Once again, they're one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference.

The game is currently going on and Johnson is hoping to see the Lakers pull out a win. After tonight, his attention will shift to Michigan State and Michigan.
