On Saturday night, the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Boston Celtics, ending their win streak at eight games. With the loss, the Lakers have fallen back down to the No. 3 seed in the West and are now behind the Denver Nuggets once again. Still, the Lakers have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA since landing Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks.
As it stands, the Lakers are legitimate title contenders and have a good opportunity to go on a deep playoff run. However, not all is great in Los Angeles at the moment.
In their defeat against Boston, the Lakers lost LeBron James in the fourth quarter due to a groin injury. While it is far too early to know definitely how serious James' injury is, head coach JJ Redick provided an update that may not be what Lakers fans want to hear.
Against the Celtics, James recorded 22 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists before leaving the game early. Despite having a good game, many are talking about his injury and the severity of it. While not providing anything concrete, Redick made it clear that there is some genuine concern about James' injury.
JJ says there is "obviously concern" with LeBron James' groin injury, but that he doesn't have any information.

Despite having turned 40 years old in December, James has shown few signs of slowing down. He is putting together another fantastic campaign this season and became an All-Star for the 21st season. Furthermore, he is continuing to showcase his importance to the Lakers' success in their quest for another championship.
Until there is more clarity, James' injury status will be one to monitor from here on out.
