After winning eight-straight games, LeBron James and Luka Doncic saw the Los Angeles Lakers' streak come to an end at the hands of Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics, 111-101. And the Lakers may have lost more than just the game.
LeBron, who played 44 minutes in Thursday's night win over the New York Knicks, was ruled out with just over six minutes remaining in the game after suffering a groin injury.
According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, initial reports say that LeBron could be out "for a matter of weeks, not a matter of days."
"It is too early to project an accurate timetable for how long LeBron James could miss because of his left groin injury, sources told ESPN," McMenamin wrote on X. "However, one source said the initial thought is that it will sideline James for a matter of weeks, not a matter of days."

Although some social media doctors with sports backgrounds claim that James' injury could keep him out three or more weeks, LeBron doesn't seem too concerned about his groin, addressing his injury after the loss.
"Not much concern," LeBron said. "Day-to-day, look at it each day and see if it gets better... Take the proper measurements and see what we can do about that."
If reports are true, the Lakers will be without LeBron for the final three games of a four-game road trip. A three-week timeline would keep him out much longer than that, with that particular window lying around late March or early April.
In the loss at TD Garden, LeBron tallied 22 points on 11-of-23 shooting, 14 rebounds and nine assists, a near triple-double for "The King." Doncic, in his 11th game with the Lakers, added 34 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Up next for the Lakers, a battle with the Brooklyn Nets on Monday.
