Jets Dealing With Brett Favre 2.0 Problem

The New York Jets need a quarterback again. That reality doesn't come as a surprise to anyone who knows the organization well, though.

They tried to draft a signal caller with a high pick in the first round, but all that did was show each organization how much the Jets have struggled with in regards to that fact. They even tried their hands at big-game hunting.

With the acquisition of Aaron Rodgers not working out for either party, it comes as no surprise that the Jets are looking to move on from the signal-caller. What is interesting, though, is that this all seems very deja vu-like.

Back in 2008, the Jets brought in future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Brett Favre in the hopes of ending their playoff and championship drought. A late season collapse, though, caused New York to miss the playoffs altogether.

Due to Favre's struggles, the Jets opted to trade up in the 2009 Draft for the rights to USC quarterback Mark Sanchez. Sanchez led the team to two straight conference title game appearances to start his career.

With Rodgers now in place of Favre in this exercise, the Jets could very well opt to draft another quarterback again when they are needed most. Miami's Cam Ward, Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, and Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart are all considered safe first-round bets at this point.

If New York opts to trade up for a rookie this year, it will only enhance the concerns that the team is recycling what worked last time for them in the hopes it will work again.

And that's a tall order to start.
