The inaugural Premier League Summer Series took place in 2023 when Chelsea, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Fulham, Brighton and Brentford were all participants.
But plans for the mini tournament's return in 2024 were scrapped due to the "various challenges" posed by the packed footballing schedule - namely the Copa America and Olympic Games, respectively.
United, who are being billed as the main attractions of this year's Summer Series despite their Premier League struggles, are also expected to head to the Far East for two end-of-season friendlies in Malaysia and Hong Kong following the conclusion of their campaign.
INEOS hope that the two fixtures will help generate significant cash to help ease their financial struggles amid a series of recent cutbacks ahead of the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle all look set to head to Asia in July for pre-season, though their plans are yet to be finalised.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool, who ideally would have been top picks for the Premier League Summer Series, are understood to be in the process of finalising pre-season fixtures in Hong Kong where the Gunners could reportedly face rivals Spurs. The Reds could also be headed for Japan before the 2025-26 Premier League season kicks off on August 16.
Speaking to The Inquirer in February, Premier League chief Tony Scholes ruled out the prospect of playing English top-flight matches in the United States amid suggestions it was an option potentially being explored for the future.
Scholes said: "Thankfully, we don’t feel the need to come and play in the US during the season. And you’ll understand the challenges that this would present in the UK as well. So it’s not on our agenda. No discussions are taking place on it. Our position as the Premier League is that we’ve got no intention of playing games abroad."
