Jack Harrison sends 33-word message to Everton fans after finally scoring first goal vs Wolves

Everton continued their unbeaten run in the Premier League – playing out a 1-1 draw with Wolves.

The Toffees moved 16 points clear of the relegation zone, and are now one of four teams on 33 points.

Everton took the lead in the first-half through Jack Harrison, after some sloppy play at the back by Wolves.

Harrison’s strike deflected in, but it was a goal that his recent performances have deserved.

Wolves then got back level through Marshall Munetsi, with Jean-Ricner Bellegarde supplying the pass into the area.

Wolves had most of the ball in the game, but Everton’s defensive solidity made it hard for them to fashion clear-cut chances.

And Everton could easily have stolen the points, but for a good save by Jose Sa from Beto after a counter-attack.

But it was a decent result, and a positive night for Harrison.

Everton did not do enough to win the game last night at Molineux.

But they also didn’t play poorly and deserve to lose.

Moyes gave credit to Wolves for the way they played and it’s clear they are really fighting for their Premier League lives.

Moyes feels Everton could still score more goals, and he will likely be hoping for Harrison to start chipping in with a few more before the end of the season.

Harrison has seen an upturn in form lately, and you could see the relief for him when he scored.

The winger took to social media last night to check in with fans, writing: “Finally!! Made up to be back in the goals, disappointed not to win. Thank you to my teammates, the staff and fans for all the support 🙏🏻 See you back at Goodison next week.”

Harrison must build on goal vs Wolves

Ahead of the game with Wolves, David Moyes challenged Harrison to score more goals.

The winger has made the perfect start after the manager’s comments, but he now has to follow that goal up, by scoring a bit more regularly.

It has bene a disappointing campaign for Harrison in the final third. His work-rate cannot be questioned, but certainly, his goal involvement numbers have been nowhere near where they need to be.

Moyes said Harrison is ‘gaining confidence’ after the draw with Wolves, so hopefully now we will see some more contributions.

Harrison wants to earn a permanent move to Everton, so to do that he needs a strong finish to 2024/25.
