When it’s rocking, the City Ground is a sight for sore eyes and when this season ends, Nottingham Forest fans might just look back on this day as an extremely special one.
The Reds came into this game with Manchester City desperate for a victory. Forest had gone three Premier League games without a win and the critics had started to doubt the team’s minerals.
Callum Hudson-Odoi scored the only goal of the game with seven minutes remaining. It came after the Forest man had been left frustrated with Ederson in the City goal following a superb save in the second half.
Pep Guardiola’s men were poor though. They failed to breach a solid Forest rearguard throughout the game, with Matz Sels only needing to make three routine saves during the win.

Callum Hudson-Odoi pokes fun at Manchester City star Erling Haaland
The City striker barely got a kick against Forest. He cut a forlorn figure spearheading the attack for the visitors and ultimately the Reds managed to keep him quiet throughout the clash.
Earlier in the season after a draw with Arsenal, Haaland was seen telling Arsenal players to stay humble but his cocky persona has come back to bite him with a number of opposition players ridiculing him this season.
Yesterday, perhaps indirectly, Hudson-Odoi decided to stick the boot in, mentioning staying humble a number of times during his post-match press conference with TNT Sports.
He said: “We’ve just got to stay humble, we know the position we’re in but there are still a lot of games to go until the end of the season. It’s about staying humbled and driving ourselves on.”

Rio Ferdinand told Hudson-Odoi that someone else said that earlier in the season – implying Haaland – and the pair enjoyed a laugh at the City player’s expense following the discussion.
Hudson-Odoi is surely going to receive England call-up
Thomas Tuchel managed Hudson-Odoi at Chelsea and the German boss will surely be considering the Forest winger for his first England squad when it’s named later this week.
The 23-year-old is in fine form and it’s quite remarkable that Forest managed to sign Hudson-Odoi for just £3 million back in the summer of 2023.
His goal yesterday just summed up the brilliance of Hudson-Odoi. He never thought about cutting the ball back and instead only had eyes for the goal with Ederson powerless to prevent it from going in the net.
Hudson-Odoi is very much integral at Forest. He makes the team tick and clearly he’s got his confidence up given that he’s given Haaland a taste of his own medicine after yesterday’s win.
