Nottingham Forest have a big few months ahead as they look to secure Champions League football and reach Wembley in the FA Cup.
The Reds are just 90 minutes away from achieving the latter, now they are through to the quarter-finals of the competition. And they remain very much in the mix for booking a place in Europe as they aim for a strong finish to the Premier League season.
Whatever happens between now and May, though, it will be an important summer at the City Ground. Changes will be made to head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad, with incomings and outgoings on the cards.
For some players currently on the books, there is a question mark over their futures Trentside. Below, NottinghamshireLive looks at who could be in line to move on at the end of the campaign.
Wayne Hennessey
The Welshman penned a short-term contract until June when he re-signed for Forest in January, after his previous deal had expired last summer. Nuno values his experience and his presence in the dressing room, but if Hennessey is to extend his stay it will most likely be in some sort of coaching role.
Jonathan Panzo
It hasn’t quite happened for the defender on the banks of the Trent since his move from Dijon in 2022. Spending the season on loan at fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned outfit Rio Ave, he is out of contract in June and the expectation is he will move on.

Andrew Omobamidele
Strasbourg have an option to make the former Norwich City man’s switch a permanent one after he joined on loan in January. It is going to be interesting to see what Forest do at centre-back in the summer, given they will welcome David Carmo and Tyler Bindon to the mix after their own loan spells.
Harry Toffolo
The left-back remains a valued member of the squad and has been a fine servant during his stint at the club. But he has struggled for game time this season and with his contract coming to an end, a move elsewhere likely beckons.
Willy Boly
Forest hold the option to retain the centre-back for an additional 12 months beyond the end of this term. However, the 34-year-old has been linked with a switch to Saudi Arabian outfit Al Riyadh, who are managed by former Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi.
Alex Moreno
The Reds have an option to turn the full-back’s loan from Aston Villa into a permanent move in the summer, but there is a question mark over whether they will take it up. Moreno is behind Neco Williams in the left-back pecking order and former club Real Betis have been credited with an interest in snapping him up again.
Lewis O’Brien
“I'm just trying to get my career back on the pathway that I want it to be,” the midfielder said when he signed for Swansea City on loan before the winter window closed. After a succession of loan spells, the 26-year-old faces a tough task to change his long-term fortunes Trentside.
Josh Bowler
The winger is yet to make a first-team appearance in the Garibaldi. Like O’Brien, he has had a number of loan stints since putting pen to paper for Forest in the summer of 2022. He is spending the second half of the campaign at Luton Town after a previous spell with Preston North End was cut short.
Emmanuel Dennis
Left out of Forest’s 25-man Premier League squad for the first half of the campaign, the attacker is at least now getting minutes on loan at Blackburn Rovers. However, on his third appearance for the Championship outfit he was sent off little more than 20 minutes after coming off the bench in a 1-1 draw with Norwich City. It seems unlikely he will have forced his way into Nuno’s plans come the summer.
