Chelsea drop double team news hint for Leicester City as Enzo Maresca dilemma solved

Chelsea return to Premier League action on Sunday as they host relegation strugglers Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca's side earned a 2-1 first-leg advantage over Copenhagen in their Europa Conference League last 16 clash last time out. The Blues will look to finish the job in west London on Thursday night as they move closer to winning a first major trophy since 2021.

But Maresca's men must turn their attention to Leicester first as they aim for a top four finish and a place in next season's Champions League. The Blues currently sit fifth in the top-flight table, which may seal a place in Europe's elite competition depending on the performances of English clubs in Europe this season.

And several Chelsea players have hinted they will feature against Ruud van Nistelrooy's team this weekend. Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are among the players to have put pre-match graphics of the match on their Instagram stories.

Historically, players who share the graphics have tended to be involved in the match. However, there have been suggestions that Maresca may choose to leave Caicedo out, with the midfielder a yellow card away from a two-game ban and rivals Arsenal up next in the league.

"No, no, no," Maresca said when the suggestion was put to him at his pre-match press conference. "I know that they said this to me, but at this moment for us, it’s about winning games.

"We need to win games, so we cannot plan giving Moi a rest thinking that he can play Arsenal. We need to win against Leicester and then we need to focus on how we can beat Arsenal. It's just game by game and we need our best players on the pitch."
