Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez will be looking to move abroad if his game time continues to be limited. The Uruguay international has not had a good season so far for the Reds and it is looking increasingly likely that his future lies away from the club.
Nunez joined Liverpool in the summer of 2022 from Benfica for a record fee. However, the 25-year-old has failed to live up to the expectations and has had an erratic career at Liverpool. The ex-Benfica was one of the most exciting forwards in world football when he joined Liverpool, and many fans were hoping to see the Uruguayan lead the line at Anfield for years to come.

But it has certainly not worked out for Nunez. According to Sofascore, the Liverpool No.9 has played 38 games in all competitions for the Reds this season. But he has just managed to scored seven goals and provide five assists in that time, with an average rating of 6.82.
Darwin Nunez’s rollercoaster season continues
Darwin Nunez has been in and out of Arne Slot’s side this season after failing to impress the new Reds manager. The 25-year-old was recently criticised as well by the Liverpool manager for his lack of effort to help the team out.
However, the Uruguay international started Liverpool’s last game against Southampton in the Premier League and scored the equaliser, before winning a penalty for his side to go 2-1 up in the second half. The striker made a solid impact before getting substituted in the 68th minute.

Nunez has made a strong argument for his inclusion in the upcoming game against PSG in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16. With Cody Gakpo injured and Diogo Jota being inconsistent, the 25-year-old will be hoping to start as Liverpool aim to progress through to the next round.
Darwin Nunez might move away from Anfield
Earlier last month, GIVEMESPORT reported that Liverpool’s recruitment team did not want to sign Darwin Nunez but it was ex-Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp who convinced the club’s hierarchy to sign the striker. This report came after Slot was not happy with the Uruguay international’s lack of effort in recent games.
Now, the news of Darwin Nunez leaving Anfield is circling around again. Argentinian journalist and a close friend of Nunez, Juan Manuel Pons has come out and said to Carve Deportiva,
“I was talking to Darwin; I’m not going to give away details, but Klopp always put him in, and Slot doesn’t. He has no shortage of offers, he wants to play, and he’s not getting it.”
Pons also added,
“I have a close relationship with Darwin. It’s not normal for a kid who is worth what he is worth to always respond to you, I’m lucky. He has three titles left to play this year, maybe that will tip the balance, but he wants more minutes.”

Arne Slot will be hoping to bank on Nunez for the rest of the season and if it is the end of the 25-year-old’s career at Anfield, it is certain that he will like to go out on a high.
