Everton continue to be linked with a move for Hamza Igamane after being credited with an interest in the Rangers ace during the winter transfer window.

Rumours of Everton’s interest in Igamane were rife in January as David Moyes looked to bolster his options in attack for the second half of the season.

There were suggestions that the Goodison Park outfit were on the cusp of striking a deal to rope in the 22-year-old from Rangers just six months after he joined them from AS FAR Rabat.

The deal did not materialise however, with the Toffees eventually making Carlos Alcaraz’s loan signing from Flamengo their only incoming of the window.

Everton in race for Igamane again, face competition from Sevilla

Everton have not regretted not signing Igamane so far as Beto has been firing on cylinders since February, bagging five goals in six Premier League appearances.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

However, that is not to say David Moyes’ side have ended their interest in the Rangers centre-forward.

In fact, the Merseyside-based club have entered the race to sign the Morocco Under-23s international ahead of the summer, according to Africafoot.

The news outlet reported via their website on Saturday (8 March) that several clubs in England, Spain and France have expressed their interest in signing Igamane, with Everton seemingly one of them.

The Toffees, though, are not alone in pursuing a summer deal for the striker as mentioned above, with Sevilla and Marseille also in the mix.

Sevilla have been particularly impressed by him after receiving positive reports from scouts, as per an Africafoot source.

Igamane to be part of Bramley-Moore Dock overhaul

Everton are prepared to start a whole new era when they move to the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium at the start of next season.

Moyes might also oversee a squad overhaul, with 13 players running out of their contracts at the end of the season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja are among those with expiring contracts, meaning the Toffees would have to strengthen their attack.

This is why a move for Igamane would make sense for the Goodison Park outfit.
