Wolves earned a valuable point at home to Everton but, the outcome could’ve been very different for Vitor Pereira’s side.
On a night that saw Marshall Munetsi score his first Wolves goal, the Old Gold dominated at Molineux to take a point from the contest.
Everton were largely not in the game as the hosts dictated the tempo, mostly thanks to the dominating performance of midfielder Andre.
Wolves fans were amazed by Andre’s performance, showering the summer signing with praise but, one footballing figure had a different view of the Brazilian’s display.

Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett shares Andre red card verdict
While Munetsi scored the decisive goal and Jose Sa pulled off a vital save to deny Beto, it was the midfield maestro who collected man of the match.
Andre has become crucial to Wolves and his performance against Everton proved such, being in total control and a metronome in the Old Gold’s midfield.
That being said, there was one moment that saw the Brazil international’s crown slip, as in the 53rd minute, the 23-year-old was booked for a foul.
What followed was a protest from Andre to referee Stuart Attwell, something that Keith Hackett believes could’ve warranted a red card.

Speaking to Goodison News, the former PGMOL chief branded Andre’s actions towards Attwell as ‘unacceptable’.
“If the referee is to maintain authority, then the approach by this player into the face of Stuart Attwell is unacceptable,” Hackett said before suggesting that the midfielder was lucky to remain on the pitch.
“The action is bordering a red card and what would have confirmed to me that Attwell should have issued a red card is what the player said to him. The player is fortunate to escape with a yellow card.”
Andre was seen to dispute the referee’s decision to pause play following his foul, with Attwell’s next decision turning out to be crucial to Wolves.
Matt Hobbs was right about Andre
It’s difficult to imagine how the clash with Everton would’ve gone without Andre on the pitch as the Brazilian dominated throughout.
The midfielder’s rise under Pereira as a result of playing in a double pivot with Joao Gomes has been exceptional, which was predicted even before the new manager arrived.
Speaking to Wolves’ official website when the Midlands club pulled off the signing of Andre, Matt Hobbs stated that the 23-year-old would hit it off in the Premier League.
“He [Andre] works hard, wins his tackles and picks up second balls. He’s physically good and we think he’ll thrive in the Premier League, similar to how Joao has.
“Our midfield now feels like a real strength of ours. As a unit of players, I feel like we’re really strong there.”
Hobbs struck gold with Andre and ever since his arrival, the midfielder hasn’t looked back, with his display against Everton only impressing Pereira even more.
