The Buffalo Bills have moved swiftly to try and lock up many of their top young players before free agency begins next week. In doing so, they have been able to stay ahead of the negotiations and the market.
Their latest example came Saturday afternoon after the team agreed to a four-year deal with former first-round edge rusher Greg Rosseau worth over $80 million and $54 million guaranteed.
In four seasons with the Bills, the Miami product has recorded 25 sacks while being considered one of the up-and-coming edge defenders in the league. He has recorded eight sacks in two of the last three seasons.
"Just a blessing from God, and couldn't be any happier just to be back here in Buffalo," Rousseau said via the team's website. "It's been a special place ever since they picked me in 2021. Beane, the trust that he's put in me, and also to trust me with this second contract and reward me with this, it just means world to me.
"I'm just ready to go out there and just keep on putting it all on the line for my teammates, try to win as many as possible, be the best player I can be and get to that next level."
Buffalo had previously agreed to four-year extensions with linebacker and defensive captain Terrel Bernard just on Friday. The move with Rousseau locks up the team's top two defensive players heading into free agency.

There are plenty of moves still to make as well.
With running back James Cook looking for a new deal along with starting cornerback Christian Benford, Rousseau is just another name the Bills have been able to lock up long-term this offseason.
