Man United drop triple team news hint before Arsenal as Ruben Amorim faces Real Sociedad…

Man United will be looking for a morale-boosting win against Arsenal on Sunday (4:30pm kick-off) ahead of Thursday's huge Europa League clash against Real Sociedad.

Manchester United host Arsenal on Sunday as they seek a rare win in the Premier League this season.

The Reds have won just nine league matches so far in 2024/25, their lowest total at this stage of a campaign for more than 30 years. United will have some hope against the Gunners, though, having knocked Mikel Arteta's team out of the FA Cup in their last meeting.

But Ruben Amorim's side may also have one eye on Thursday's vital Europa League last 16 second leg against Real Sociedad. The clash at Old Trafford will arguably be United's most important game of the season so far with the Europa League their only realistic chance of returning to Europe next season.

Attention will be on Arsenal first though and several Reds players have hinted they will feature against Arteta's men. Diogo Dalot, Casemiro and Leny Yoro are among the United players to have put pre-match graphics on their Instagram stories.

Historically, players who share the graphics have tended to be involved in the match. The Reds have several injury problems within their squad but are still likely to rest players before Thursday's critical fixture against Sociedad.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are likely to go with a stronger line-up on Sunday. The Gunners are 7-1 up in their Champions League tie against PSV Eindhoven.

Amorim will hope to have the time at Old Trafford that his counterpart this weekend has been afforded. Arteta struggled initially at the Emirates Stadium but has since built a side capable of challenging for the Premier League title.

And Amorim was asked at his pre-match press conference on Friday if he saw similarities between himself and Arteta. "I don’t feel that. I will not have the time Arteta had," he said. "I feel that.

"It’s a different club. So we just need to survive with the players (against Arsenal) on Sunday and we are doing these games.

"I think it’s a different club. I think in that aspect, the way Arteta dealt with that is an inspiration for everybody but I will not have the time like Arteta had."
