The Kansas City Chiefs will be facing a new quarterback in the AFC West next season with the Las Vegas Raiders sensationally trading for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith.
Smith is now reunited with former head coach, Pete Carroll, and the Raiders just got that little bit better. We can bet that the Chiefs had one eye on the transaction.
One person who definitely did was Tom Brady, who has a stake in the Raiders as part owner, and per Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz, the seven-time Super Bowl winner is on board with the move for Geno.
"Tom Brady was also onboard with the move to acquire Smith, per multiple sources," Schultz's tweet said.
The move has shocked the NFL, and while many see it as a big upgrade at the position for the Raiders, the Chiefs are still looming large.
Patrick Mahomes has a 12-2 all-time record against the Raiders, and while Smith is a good upgrade over the options Las Vegas had last season, it will be interesting to see how things shake out in their two meetings next season.

But it is a move that has Brady's stamp of approval, and for the Chiefs, that could be seen as a little concerning as Smith proved to be a solid option for the Seahawks and now gets to play under Carroll again.
The Los Angeles Chargers improved last season, and so did the Denver Broncos, and now the Raiders have Carroll and Geno, so it appears that the AFC West might not be a cakewalk for the Chiefs in 2025.
