Steve Kerr Makes Stephen Curry Locker-Room Gesture After Warriors Win

The Warriors returned home after a successful 4-1 road trip and found themselves in a dogfight against one of the most surprising teams in the Eastern Conference--indeed, in the league--the Detroit Pistons. There was a fire alarm that sounded during the game, as well as the challenge of just adjusting to being back on their home floor, but the Warriors managed to come away with a 115-110 win.

The Warriors were 25-26 on Feb. 7, but have gone 11-2 since then. Beating Detroit was especially difficult, as the Warriors shot just 41.7% from the field and 29.3% from the 3-point line. Stephen Curry had 32 points, despite going just 8-for-22 from the field and 4-for-15 from the 3-point line.

"They have a particular style, they play physical, they try to get into you from the jump. I know the scouting report was that they foul you probably the most in the league. It was gonna be kind of a slogfest," Curry said after the game.

But despite the struggle, Curry made history on Saturday, becoming only the 10th player to ever score 25,000 points for one franchise.

After the game, coach Steve Kerr spoke to the team in the locker room and awarded the game ball to Curry. "He gets the game ball," Kerr said, as Draymond Green attempted to hang onto the ball for himself.

When Curry passed it back, Green shouted, "Sign it for me!"

Curry's 25,017 points ranks 26th all-time.

"It's crazy, crazy," Kerr said after the game. "It feels like 25,000 3s actually. It's dynamite. Just night after night, and tonight was obviously not a great shooting night for him. But I loved that he played through fatigue and a physical defense and got to the line 12 times. He was brilliant on a night when his shot really wasn't there, he was still brilliant. That's the mark of a great player."
