Chavas starts in goal. Antonia and Méndez were the CB duo, joined by Yasmim and Shei as fullbacks in the defensive line. Toletti and Weir started in midfield. Møller was part of the front four alongside Athenea and Navarro, with Redondo leading the line.

There was an obvious miscommunication with the right-hand side. Møller operated as a #10 behind Redondo and was in charge of recoveries high up the pitch. However, her passes intended for Eva Navarro, who was out wide, were mostly unsuccessful. The chemistry on the right was off, but the left side with Athenea functioned better.

There were some defensive mishaps, mostly by Méndez and Yasmim, but Antonia did well in recovering the ball inside the penalty area. Chavas didn’t have much to do but she seemed solid under high pressure and aerially as well.

The second half was quite dull. Aside from the two goals, Sullastres got a red card with a handball outside of the penalty area. She went 1-v-1 on Signe Bruun and saved her shot a couple of meters outside of the box. Carla Camacho also got 17 minutes in this encounter, and Elsa Santos debuted, getting on for Weir.

34’: GOAL (0-1) by Alba Redondo: Toletti took the freekick. Redondo got the ball from a brilliant movement she did from the front of the wall way to the back. Her first shot was saved by Sullastres but she got the rebound inside.

41’: GOAL (0-2) by Athenea del Castillo: Clean combination between the goalscorer and Toletti at the edge of the box allowed Athenea to get free movement into the box and shot it behind the goalkeeper’s back.

70’: GOAL (0-3) by Alba Redondo: Half of the goal was Athenea’s. She received the ball in the half-space before entering the box, made a turn, and pushed it to Redondo who completed a brace in this encounter. This didn’t count as Athenea’s assist because a defender touched the ball on its way to Alba.

90+1’: GOAL (0-4) by Naomie Feller: Bruun recovered the ball in the midfield and passed it through to Athenea in the box. She dribbled inside and passed it to Feller who was running toward the goal and pushed it in. Another goal contribution by Athenea to mark her first game as Real Madrid captain.

Important 3 points to raise the morale after the Clásico loss in the midweek cup game. Pod coming soon!
