Browns Predicted to Make Shocking Myles Garrett Decision

The Cleveland Browns are one of the most talked about teams heading into NFL free agency and ahead of the 2025 NFL draft.

Most of that talk has to do with the future of superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett. After he made a very public trade request, it has been widely speculated that he will end up being moved this offseason.

While he is motivated to find his way out of town, the Browns have not been interested in trading him to this point.

That could change, but it's also possible that Cleveland could continue declining to trade him and try to work things out over some time.

With that being said, there is a new shocking prediction that has been made regarding Garrett's future with the Browns.

Garrett Podell of CBS Sports has released some bold predictions for the NFL offseason. One of his predictions was that Cleveland will not end up trading Garrett.

"The Browns could be looking at their situation and hoping that with an offense powered by a fresh talent at quarterback, Garrett could be more enthused to stick around," Podell wrote.

"Plus, trading Garrett would cause the Browns to absorb $36.2 million in dead money, which would lose them $16.5 million of their 2025 cap space. In the NFL, teams have more power than players when it comes to trade demands, and Cleveland uses that power to keep Garrett around in 2025."

Garrett has been the heart and soul of the Browns' franchise for years. Losing him would be a tough blow, although Cleveland is not a top-tier contender at this point.

During the 2024 NFL season, Garrett had another big year. He compiled 47 tackles, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a defended pass in 17 games.
