Browns’ Myles Garrett Projected To Be ‘Enthusiastic’ About Landing Spot

FRISCO - If we're just in the business of making "bold predictions'' as a way to catch the reader's eye?

Reader Beware, but OK.

Can the Cleveland Browns make Myles Garrett feel "enthusiastic'' about changing his mind and staying in Cleveland?

There. Caught your eye, right?

Maybe that is all CBS Sports is trying to do as it has released some bold predictions for the NFL offseason. One of their predictions us that Cleveland will not end up trading Garrett.

Really?

"The Browns could be looking at their situation and hoping that with an offense powered by a fresh talent at quarterback, Garrett could be more enthused to stick around," CBS writes.

It is certainly true that the Browns' serious of awful decisions at the QB position have led them down a path of non-contention ... which is at the core of Garrett being steadfast about wanting out.

It's also true that team ownership is being stubborn - not only about declining to trade him, but also about team owner Jimmy Haslem even wanting to meet with him to discuss his position with the team.

That doesn't sound like the foundation for a sudden change in late April just because the Browns have used a top-three pick on a QB.

In fact, surely before Garrett, a six-time Pro Bowl player and four-time All-Pro selection, made his public request, he'd considered the possibility of an upgrade at QB, right?

And we will say this: The Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Even if they take Shedeur Sanders of Colorado or Cam Ward of Miami ... does that magically turn the Browns into the sort of Super Bowl contender that Garrett, now 29, wants to play with?

The Browns finished 3-14 in 2024, their worst season since going 0-16 in 2017, which was Garrett's rookie campaign. He has seen it all, from the bottom looking up.

A new QB? Fine, but the next guy will be the 16th different starting quarterback for Garrett during his career.

Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski recently said that Garrett is "part of the present. He's part of the future."

We're not sure about that. But we're pretty sure Garrett isn't "enthused'' by it.
