It's a bird, it's a plane-no, it's Puka Nacua soaring down the sideline and making jaw-dropping catches every Sunday for the Los Angeles Rams!
In fact, a recent report highlights Nacua as one of the most explosive pass-catchers in the league.
Among receivers with at least 70 catches, Nacua owns the third-highest explosive reception rate in the NFL at 35.4%. Only Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton and Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson rank higher.
Nacua first burst onto the scene as a record-breaking rookie receiver during the 2023 regular season. Selected in the fifth round with the 177th overall pick by the Rams, he made NFL history by surpassing Bill Groman's 1960 mark for most receiving yards in a season by a rookie, finishing with 1,486 yards.
Ultimately, injuries limited Puka to only 11 games this past fall, but he's able to stay healthy
Nacua spent his first two years of college football at Washington before packing his bags and transferring to BYU. While in Provo, Puka hauled in a total of 11 receiving touchdowns as a Cougar, quickly becoming a go-to weapon in the passing game.
The Rams' belief in Nacua's overall game as a wide receiver before the draft has paid off in a big way. With reports suggesting that WR Cooper Kupp and the Rams are likely to part ways soon, Nacua is set to become the team's WR1 under the bright lights of Los Angeles.
