LeBron James Receives Major Update After Concerning Injury

The Los Angeles Lakers took on the Boston Celtics on Saturday night, and it wasn't just the game they lost-they also saw their leader go down with an injury.

With just over six minutes left in the fourth quarter, LeBron James exited the game due to a groin injury. At the time, the Celtics held a nine-point lead.

After the 111-101 loss, ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported, "It is too early to project an accurate timetable for how long LeBron James could miss because of his left groin injury, sources told ESPN. However one source said the initial thought is that it will sideline James for a matter of weeks, not a matter of days."

Meanwhile, on Sunday, ESPN's Shams Charania provided a more clearer update.

"Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is expected to miss at least 1-to-2 weeks with a groin strain, sources tell ESPN. James will wait for the groin injury to calm down over the next 24 hours and receive another evaluation," Charania said.

James is in his 22nd NBA season and he's continued to show he's one of the best in the world. The four-time MVP is averaging 25.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 8.5 assists so far this year.

He's also been a major reason for the Lakers' success this season alongside Luka Doncic, the team's recent acquisition. The Lakers are 40-22 and have only lost three games dating back to the start of February.
