The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics just don’t like each other.
That has been the case since the beginning of time.
Dating back to the Bill Russell days, these teams have had a lot of history, even when the Lakers were still in Minneapolis.
That’s why Jaylen Brown believes that even their regular-season matchups have a playoff-type atmosphere.
Following his team’s win over their lifelong rivals, the defending Finals MVP gushed about the environment and the vibes at TD Garden during the game:
“It felt like a playoff-type intensity… the history between the Celtics and Lakers… it was a great energy game,” he said.

The Lakers and the Celtics have squared off in the NBA Finals over and over.
However, it’s been 15 years since the last time they met on the biggest stage, when Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to their 16th title against Paul Pierce and company.
J.J. Redick has done a very good job in his first year in charge of the Lakers.
For the first time in years, it seems like they might have a chance against the Denver Nuggets.
On the other hand, the Celtics are still one of the teams to beat in the league, so who’s to say they won’t square off in the NBA Finals this season?
That’s most definitely a dream for the NBA and Adam Silver.
With Luka Doncic’s desire to get back at Boston and this team’s history, it would totally be one of the most anticipated playoff series in recent times.
