Two of the best teams in the NBA's Western Conference face off on Sunday afternoon when the Denver Nuggets, two years removed from winning the NBA championship, take on the Oklahoma City Thunder, arguably the best team in the league this season.
The Nuggets are no slouches themselves in 2024-25, however, as they enter the weekend with a 41-22 win and winners of back-to-back contests. Most recently, Denver defeated the Phoenix Suns in an overtime thriller, coming out on top 149-141 behind a historic Nikola Jokic stat line. On Friday night, the Serbian big man became the first player in NBA history to post a 30/20/20 stat line when he finished the victory with 31 points, 21 rebounds and 22 assists. Despite the acclaim of other top players this season, Jokic could - and perhaps should - be the front-runner for MVP again, which would be his fourth time earning the honor.

The Thunder, meanwhile, have the second-best record in the NBA this campaign, sitting at 52-11 heading into the weekend, and are coming off six wins in a row. Most recently, Oklahoma City defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 107-89 thanks to 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists from backup center Jaylin Williams.
