On Feb. 3, Cleveland Browns star pass rusher Myles Garrett requested a trade after eight seasons with the organization. However, Browns GM Andrew Berry and the front office made it clear they had no intention of trading Garrett, regardless of the request.
Fast forward a few weeks, and after some stagnant conversations, the two sides were able to negotiate and ultimately agree on a massive four-year deal, making Garrett the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL with $40 million a year and $123 million guaranteed.
With this news, the market resets, and it will likely reset again soon, as several key players, including Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons, are eyeing contract extensions. Parsons reacted to the news shortly after it became public.
"Lol yooo wtf." Parsons posted on X with a laughing emoji.

Parsons, who is entering the final season of his contract, is expected to receive a deal similar to Garrett's, or potentially even more, as he has developed into one of the premier defensive players in the entire NFL since being drafted out of Penn State.
He has made it clear that his focus is on winning in Dallas, and that remains his priority. However, with his first major contract approaching, it will also be a key factor in the equation. With the new league year beginning on March 12, moves have already started flooding in.
Another player awaiting a new contract, which could reset the market for non-QBs, is Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase. Coming off a Triple Crown season, Chase is looking to become the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history.
