Martinelli shouted at Rice after Man Utd gesture as Arsenal outburst spotted

Gabriel Martinelli was spotted shouting at Declan Rice to cut his celebration short following Arsenal's equaliser against Manchester United. The 26-year-old midfielder levelled proceedings at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, beating Andre Onana with a superb strike from range.

After finally pulling one back against the Red Devils, Rice wheeled away in celebration and beelined towards the home supporters behind the goal. The England international punched the air before gesturing 'calm down' with his hands.

As Rice reached the corner flag, he put his finger to his lips. To the former West Ham midfielder's surprise, he was only joined by a handful of teammates. As Rice embraced those who congratulated him on his goal, Martinelli was spotted shouting at the group from a distance.

The Arsenal winger appeared to be calling them back for the restart. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta was irate on the touchline, urging his players to waste no time in celebrating an equaliser.

With Liverpool defeating Southampton on Saturday and the Gunners dropping points to United, there's now a 15 points gap between the two title hopefuls at the top of the Premier League.

Interestingly, speaking to reporters ahead of the Red Devils clash, Arteta was quizzed on United's ability to win points against the odds.

"There’s a history of that at the football club - the players they have, the club that they have," said the Spaniard. "Watching the game last night against Real Sociedad, it became very clear that they’re very capable of putting a really strong performance in and beat you on the day. We know the difficulty of the match and that’s what we’re preparing for."

Then, on wanting to be more unpredictable and fluid, Arteta said: "We need to look at threats from all areas. We lost very important wingers that were providing a lot for us in that final third and we’re looking to explore other options as well.

"The team has this capacity to adapt, we have a lot of players with great football intelligence to understand when to move and why, especially to do certain things.

"The other day certainly flowed and we saw actions and combinations that are very difficult to defend."
