Our Adobe Women's FA Cup journey came to an end on Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Captain Kim Little spoke pitchside after the full-time whistle, sharing her reflections on what we were missing on the day, our opponents, and how our side will bounce back.
_Here is everything she had to say:_
**on what she made of the match...**
Firstly, we're just disappointed. We wanted to go on and win the FA Cup and I think we could but we didn’t get the result today. Credit to Liverpool: they made the game incredibly hard for us and at times, we didn’t match that.
We could’ve been better and I think we’ll reflect and know our quality could have been better. So yeah, disappointing. I just want to thank all of our support and our fans for sticking by us and being behind us even though the result didn’t go our way.
**on Liverpool's new set-up and manager...**
We go into every game against opponents to try and nullify their threats and obviously, play the game the way we want to and I think we did do that with the set pieces. They’re obviously normally very good at set pieces and we minimised that and defended them really well, but they got the goal that won it in the end which we didn’t.
We probably didn’t make enough clear-cut chances really. Not sure how many we had but we weren’t clinical enough and maybe had the decisive edge in the final third and we need to look at that.
**on our squad's resilient belief...**
We train every day with each other and we know each other’s qualities. Sometimes, games don’t go your way and you have to reflect and bounce back. We want to go and finish the league in the strongest possible position we can and now our focus turns towards that and the Champions League. We will do all that we can to win the rest of our games.
**on facing Liverpool again very soon...**
Obviously, a different competition and a different game and we’ll approach it like that. We’ll have great support at Emirates and we’ll enjoy that and hopefully put on a better performance than we did today.
