Report: Key Nottingham Forest figure headhunted for top job, Nuno will demand he's replaced

Nottingham Forest are going great in the Premier League right now and with 10 games remaining project Champions League football is still very much on the cards.

The Reds are going to be hoping for some fortune during the final games of the season as they bid to keep their noses in front of those chasing down the five places up for grabs.

Ola Aina was praised for his work yesterday but it was really all about the team performance. Nuno Espirito Santo masterminded this win and he will be buzzing to have gotten the better of Pep Guardiola.

The morale at the entire club is something for Evangelos Marinakis to be proud of. There is little to doubt that he cares deeply about putting Forest back on the European map and will leave no stone unturned to do just that.

However, as much as everything feels positive at the moment, some news that emerged earlier today could be rather detrimental for Forest going forward.

Nottingham Forest set to lose Chris Brass

Forest will certainly be in the market for new players next summer. However, firstly, the club might need to make a new addition to the recruitment team itself.

According to Alan Nixon via his Patreon, Brass has been headhunted for a top job within the Football Association and is set to walk away from his position at the City Ground.

Brass has been at the club for a number of years and has overseen a mini revival from a recruitment point of view as Forest tried to learn lessons from signing 30 players during the summer of 2022.

His job within the FA isn’t clear at this stage but it’s claimed in the report that he’s been cherry picked by the association for a top position within their ranks.

Forest must maintain shrewd approach to recruitment

The Reds losing Brass to the FA is far from ideal and the club will now hope to get someone else into the club to take over his position in the near future.

Forest did brilliant work to right several wrongs during the summer of 2024 and this season the team has reaped the rewards of that approach on the pitch.

Brass has done great work at the City Ground. He’s overseen a complete overhaul of the recruitment with the club adopting a data-driven approach and a desire to land young players will significant resale value.

It’s a sign of the times and a nod towards the work Forest are doing that the FA want to get hold of Brass but Forest have to make sure they get a replacement sourced very quickly.
