Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has hit out at criticism of Bruno Fernandes after he scored against Arsenal.
Fernandes was on the receiving end of a furious rant from Roy Keane recently as he claimed that the Reds' current skipper did not show enough leadership on the pitch.
The Irishman was made to eat his words slightly at half-time when the midfielder curled home a free kick in front of the Stretford End to give United the lead.
However, instead of backtracking, Keane decided to double down on his opinion.
"His quality... I've never doubted his quality but as I say, I think he can do a lot more for the team," the former midfielder told Sky Sports.
"The game was poor, poor from United, poor from Arsenal but this quality, we know he's got it in him.
"An amazing strike, we'll question the goalkeeper, the wall but what a strike, the power, the technique.
"The power he gets to get it over the wall catches us all out and I think the goalkeeper out but to still get the power behind it was brilliant."
As Keane shared his analysis on Sky Sports, Ferdinand watching from home appeared to send a message to those who have been doubting Fernandes, including his old teammate.
Writing on X, Ferdinand explained: "Bruno is our problem they keep telling me…"
So far this season, Fernandes has managed to bag 11 goals and 13 assists in all competitions making him the leading goalscorer and creator in the United team this season.
