Arsenal missed the chance to narrow the gap to Premier League leaders Liverpool as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United on Sunday.
Bruno Fernandes’ free-kick put the hosts in front at Old Trafford shortly before half-time, but Declan Rice drew the Gunners level late on to earn Mikel Arteta’s side a point.
The North London side now sit 15 points behind Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table, although they do have a game-in-hand over the Reds.
This summer could be one of significant change for Arsenal, and it appears that those in charge of the club are plotting talks to sign a prolific striker.
According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal are set to enter into talks with the agents of Victor Osimhen about a potential move for the Nigerian this summer.
Osimhen, 26, is currently on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray from Serie A outfit Napoli, and he has netted 23 times in 29 games for the club so far this term.
The Nigeria international was heavily linked with a permanent move away from Naples last summer but ultimately went on loan to Galatasaray after a permanent departure failed to materialise.
Osimhen could be a target for Arsenal this summer
Osimhen is expected to leave the Serie A side this summer, though, and the report claims that Arsenal are considering a move for the player as they look to bolster Arteta’s attacking options.
Despite this, the report does also claim that RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres are above Osimhen in the Gunners’ pecking order of potential transfer targets.
Fellow Premier League sides Manchester United and Chelsea, as well as French champions Paris Saint-Germain, are all also listed as having shown interest in the forward.
Osimhen is believed to have a release clause of around £63 million in his current contract.
