Linebacker Nick Bolton is going nowhere. The Kansas City Chiefs made sure of that Sunday afternoon.
The Chiefs and Bolton got together on a three-year, $45 million pact which includes $30 million in guaranteed money,
The story was first reported by The Athletic's Dianna Russini via social media. The deal was negotiated for Bolton by former Chiefs' player Tom Condon of CAA.
The signing comes on the heels of the Philadelphia Eagles re-signing Zack Baun to a new three-year contract worth $51 milion.
The Bolton signing means the top two free agent linebackers heading into the legal tampering period on Monday, are both signed with their previous teams and off the table.
Chiefs general manager Brett Veach gave reporters an inkling at the NFL Scouting Combine two weeks ago the team was close to re-signing Bolton.
In four years with the Chiefs, Bolton went to four AFC Championship Games and three Super Bowls. He has two Super Bowl rings to show for his efforts.
Prior to signing, football pundits had Bolton bolting for the Denver Broncos, who are in the need of a linebacker with Bolton's skills. Now that Bolton is signed Chiefs fans do not have to worry about playing Bolton twice a year in another team's uniform.

"The Cowboys also have a big need at inside linebacker with DeMarvion Overshown recovering from another season-ending knee injury and veteran Eric Kendricks hitting the open market," Podell said. "Bolton attending Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas just down the road from The Star -- the Cowboys' facility -- and being in the middle of his twenties makes him primed to come home to Dallas,"
