Ahead of NFL free agency kicking off, the Cincinnati Bengals have re-signed Cody Ford.
According to NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo, the Bengals have given Ford a two-year deal, so he’s set to remain in Cincinnati for the next two seasons.
The 6-foot-3, 345-pound Ford will be a seventh-year player in 2024 after joining the Bengals as an unrestricted free agent during the 2023 offseason from the Arizona Cardinals. He played in all 17 games for Cincinnati in 2023, making one start.
This past season, Ford took on a much bigger role for the Bengals due to injuries and poor play across the offensive line. He appeared in 16 games, starting nine, several of which were at left guard due to the enigmatic play of Cordell Volson.
Ford also played at left and right tackle while Orlando Brown Jr. and Amarius Mims both battled injuries at various parts of the season.
It's not the sexiest move, but it’s one the Bengals needed to make.
