Panthers projected to trade with Super Bowl team in latest NFL Mock Draft

The Carolina Panthers will be looking for an advantage in the 2025 NFL Draft with all options on the table. With defense being a top priority going into next week's free agency period, Dave Canales and his staff could target a top wide receiver by trading back.

CBS Sports' Tom Fornelli has the club dropping down in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs to collect more picks to take Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka. "The Panthers got plenty of additional assets by trading with the Chiefs, and will use those picks to build around a young team," Fornelli wrote. "One way to help Bryce Young would be surrounding him with weapons, and Emeka Egbuka is the epitome of a winning football player."

The latest mock draft puts the Panthers front and center in addressing key weapons for Bryce Young. Egbuka is coming off a deep 16-game run with OSU, who defeated Notre Dame in the national championship. He had 81 receptions for 1,011 yards and 10 touchdowns. His second 1,000-yard season for the Buckeyes.

Noted as the third-best wideout in this year's class, Egbuka has a dual-sport background with baseball in his blood as his first love. He has converted his skills to be impressive on the gridiron and is competitive in his approach. Even as a rookie, Egbuka would bring an edge the Panthers need on offense.

Panthers re-sign important piece to maintain offensive continuity

As it stands now, the Panthers are in a good position with the eighth overall pick and might consider seeing what they can get to move back.
